Appel : Coreopsis Journal of Myth & Theater. Anarchy and Harmony

Date limite de soumission : 1er janvier 2025
Pour publication en mars 2025

An exploration of the ideas of “Anarchy” and “Harmony” in culture, art, music, literature, and theater. We are exploring how societies can be arranged differently. Inspired equally by archaeological evidence of very different civilizations in the ancient Celtic sites and the new evidence recently discovered in Amazonia of thriving civilizations ordered on a very different approach to living together than the one we know currently and, also, by U.K. LeGuin’s work in “The Telling” and “The Dispossessed” which explore different approaches to non-hierarchical societies. We challenge scholars to explore Anarchy and Harmony.

Topics to consider:

  • The magic and science of dissonance and harmony.
  • Bards, Ashiqs, Troubadours, ancient, modern, legendary, and fictional: they have a place in our collective psyche. What is that place? Why is it important?
  • Order and anarchy: Kropotkin, Paul Goodman, Emma Goldman
  • What would our world look like with different choices?
  • About inspiration and life’s small triumphs.
  • Mutual aid, interdependent systems, what makes a world liveable?
  • Take us to distant places beyond the edge of the world.
  • What is the definition of utopia? Dystopia?
  • Tell us about mystery and dark places.
  • Dreams, inspiration, the journey to wholeness.
  • About descent and emergence.
  • Heroes, Heroines, Fools, Antiheroes, and Villains all make the journey of descent and emergence. Tell us about journeys and quests. Good, evil, and indifference.
